Lares Hotsprings & Ankasmarka Pre-Incan Graneries
Day Trip: an epic roadtrip, a little hiking & relaxing in the hotsprings
This road trip includes a visit to Ankasmarka's ancient "colcas", graneries serving the important ancestral transit route between the jungle and the Sacred Valley of the Incas and a chance to view some of the most exquisite textiles in the region. We will travel up to Lares natural hotsprings, by far the best in the region, to bathe in the hot water. This excursion offers spectacular and changing scenery as we travel up the Lares Valley. A great daytrip to enjoy after a more strenous trek.

Prices

190 us$ per person including transport to and from Cusco or the Sacred Valley, entrance to the baths and a picnic lunch. (minimum 2 participants).

Conditions

This tour begins at 8 am and ends around 7pm. We reach altitudes above 4200 meters on the road but the baths are at a  much lower altitude. A standard responsiblity release waiver provided by the ranch much be signed by each traveler. Upon requesting a booking a delatiled list of conditions, inclusions and exclusions will be provided. No cancelations or refunds will be made after booking. For any concerns please contact the ranch.

Trip Description

We will leave at 8:00am, drive through Calca to Ankasmarka site and hike for 20 minutes into the site, spending around an hour there. On the way out we will visit the community textile center offering some of the finest traditional textiles in the region and have the opportunity to meet the artisans and purchase textiles directly from their makers. 

We will continue our drive through the high alpaca pasturing zones and then descend into the town of Lares to enjoy a picnic lunch and the afternoon of bathing in the healing natural hotsprings.
