tiny noise is for YOU

+ tiny noise is a project by frontierlab [kyd] + acidfake recordings [toni]

tiny noise is a nomadic open concept audio art platform conceived by Toni [skopje] and Kyd [montreal] in february 2005. it started spontaneously as a d.i.y. experiment in forming an independent network by using global communication tools, personal contacts and experiences. the idea of tiny noise is to spread and connect experimental, provocative and adventurous music and sound projects at irregular times and in diverse places. tiny noise remains open to many sound/music forms, especially those enriched by other medias and looks to collaborate with other open projects.

basically, tiny noise is a network and and ongoing nomadic series of events. tiny noise would be happy to come to your city and may already be on the way. you might have the chance to meet someone in your own city that you have never met before!

tiny noise is especially effective at getting sound artists out of their studios and from behind their computers to make some public noise!

202project is the one man band of JP Marsal since 1996. JP started music in 1993 in the city of Lyon in France close to the Noise rock scene of the 90's (deity Guns Condense, De ku Dilarth) He was one of those kids who starts a band without ever having touched an instrument. Influenced by the rock noisy scene of the 90's but also OG Blues, shamanique ceremony, african root's music, NYC minimal scene of the 60's, electronique and Krautrock... he has been working with a computer since 2004. All his experiments end up in the same way: a wall of sound.

tiny noise -> current mood -> TINY TIME FOR THOUGHT AND MAKING NEW FRIENDS

WE'RE IN A PERIOD OF REFLECTION WITH THE PROJECT. AFTER 15 SUPER EVENTS IN MANY CITIES, WE WANT TO FIGURE OUT HOW WE CAN DO EVEN BETTER AND TO HAVE AN EVEN BIGGER FOCUS ON ARTIST EXCHANGE AND DIALOG. IN THE MEANWHILE, WE'RE WORKING ON THINGS THAT AREN'T ALWAYS CALLED tiny noise AND WE'RE RESEARCHING NEW SOLUTIONS FOR HOW TO CARRY-ON WITHOUT GETTING BORING OR TOO STRUCTURED. IF YOU HAVE SOME IDEAS ABOUT THIS, LET US KNOW. AND PLEASE NOTE: WE'RE NOT COMPLETELY CLOSED TO MAKING EVENTS, SO TELL US IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A PLAN.

+ WE'RE WORKING WITH THE MOERS FESTIVAL [DE FOR another tiny noise camp IN MAY 2010!

+ AS ALWAYS, FEEL WELCOME TO CONTACT US TO GET ANY INFO ABOUT THE PROJECT OF IF YOU'RE IN THE MOOD TO COLLABORATE

tiny noise is YOU + TONI + KYD

+ tiny noise was co-founded and co-hosted by frontierlab [kyd] + acidfake recordings [toni]

kyd and toni have been working at a distance, running tiny noise entirely through online communication since 2005. they created the project because listening to noise makes them feel a lot better. tiny noise relies heavily on trust, luck, friends, sounds and supporters.

Kyd Campbell is a nomadic programmer and curator born in Montreal, Canada specialized in circulation, media and audio art and is also as a digital creator of public interactive situations and machine that make real rainbows. She has developed a number of cultural venues in Canada and Eastern Europe including collaborations with the Upgrade! International network, Public Art Lab's project Mobile Studios, the Pure Data community, the HTMlles festival, OKNO.be and CTRL_ATL_DEL festival in Istanbul. She is co-founder of tiny noise and contributes to digital communities and research groups focused on observing mobility and the emotional aspects of human-machine relationships. Remaining independent allows her some freedom to speculate and experiment, to welcome all forms of collaboration and information exchange.

frontierlab is the name that she uses to group all of her curatorial and artistic projects together. The logo is a hot water bottle.

Toni Dimitrov (every kid on speed) is a producer of glitch and cut up electronics. Based in Skopje, Macedonia, Antonio is officially studying philosophy at university there, but is now more occupied with his label acid fake recordings and editing the label's webzine, fakezine [a zine about contemporary experimental music and [sub]culture]. He is also occupied with his radio programs on radio kanal 103 and participation in its editorship. As a sound artist he performs as every kid on speed and every kid on acid. Toni is co-founder of tiny noise and a founding partner of Line Initiative + Movement in Skopje.

acid fake is Toni's web label and design division. It seems to be a label that explores new inventive structures of sound so called music. It is concentrated on noise, glitch, dubby soundscapes, rhythmic clicks n cuts variations.... Its intention is to find and present to audiences known and unknown artists and projects that explore the reality of sounds, experiment in its pure form.
